Hello everybody, I'd like to tell you about the typical desserts of Great Britain
Britain is popular with many desserts, among them there is the Battenberg Cake, a very famous English dessert, created in honor of the wedding between the granddaughter of Queen Victoria and the German prince of the Battenberg family, it is a butter cake coated with marzipan and composed of two colored doughs that are arranged in checkered and held together by apricot jam and traditionally served with afternoon tea. The Carrot Cake is very particular: a high and soft carrot cake enriched with almond flour, hazelnuts or other nuts, packed in several layers and stuffed with fresh creamy cheese mixed with butter, sugar and vanilla, all covered with a delicious icing.
Finally we find the Chelsea Bun, a typical dessert and perhaps one of the best of the English tradition.
It was created in London in the eighteenth century at the Bun House in Chelsea (then demolished in 1839), it is a soft swivel-shaped brioche, made of leavened dough flavored with lemon peel, cinnamon or mixed spices, before being served. the typical spiral shape, the dough is enriched with a mixture of currants, raisins or candied fruit, brown sugar and butter.

By Mariacristina De Bonis

Desserts have also changed.
English sweets are very tied to religious holidays. An example can be the "hot cross buns" is a spiced sweet bun with raisins, it is used to make it on Good Friday.
The "plum puddings" is made at Christmas has a round shape and is based on eggs, almonds, candied fruit, rum and spice. Usually it is served flambé and decorated with holly.
As we have seen in these desserts in England spices are used a lot to make them more fragrant and good.
Luca mandatori

There’s a wide variety of Indian desserts to choose from, made from all kinds of ingredients, like condensed milk, nuts, fruits, flour, and more. The composition and recipes of the sweets and other ingredients vary by region. One of my favourite is Gurab Jamun the good old delight made with khoya, fried golden and finally dipped in saffron induced sugar syrup. Also a festive favourite! You'll be surprised how easily you can try these at home.

Rani Anju

I’m very impressed with the work of the Terracina students. I have learned about some Devon specialities, and want to taste them. The apples from our region are great but so are the figs from Terracina, which I enjoyed when I stayed there. Bravo for your work and Buona Fortuna.
