Then there were 3 torpedo boats that attacked the USS Maddox, and the attack was driven off by the USS Turner Joy. The US and the Vietnam ships then reported that they were both under attack for a couple of days. Lastly, the US passed a new act saying the US could take any aggression in order to win.</div>]]></description>

The the PAVN surrounded a nearby base and used about 15,000-20,000 men to assault the US base. Eventually the raid on the Ho Chi Minh trail was abandoned by the US.</div>]]></description>
