FUN FACTS ABOUT BLACK HOLES.
BY FARAHSYIKIN SYUHADA FROM 4C

FACT ONE!
did you know that we can't 'directly' see a black hole?🤷🏻‍♀️

We call it as a black hole because of the colour of it --it's black because light can't escape from it.What we see, though, is the effect of a black hole, sucking everything around it, causing no light. So, the environment appears black, causing it to be called 'black hole'. For example, a star that's close enough to a black hole can be seen being devoured.

FACT TWO!
did you know that our Milky Way probably has a black hole?

Guys, don't be scared! Earth isn't in danger. The major black hole that astronomists believe to be in the Milky Way is light years away from Earth. We're safe :)

FACT THREE
did you know that dying stars lead to stellar black holes?

The death of large stars lead to black holes, because a star’s gravity will overwhelm the star’s natural pressure that it maintains to keep its shape. When the pressure from the nuclear reactions collapses, gravity overwhelms and collapses the star’s core, and the star’s other layers are thrown off into space, and this process is also known as a supernova. The remainder of the core collapses, a spot overcome by density and without volume – a black hole.

FACT FOUR!
did you know that there are actually three categories of a black hole?

1) Primordial Black holes – These are the smallest of black holes and range from an atom’s size to a mountain’s mass.

2) Stellar Black Holes – These are the most common of black holes and they can be up to 20 times more massive than the Sun. There are also a variety of these all over the Milky Way.

3) Supermassive Black Holes – These are the largest of black holes, being more than 1 million times more massive than the Sun!

Amazing, isn't it?

FACT FIVE!
did you know that black holes are funky?

Say someone falls into a black hole and there’s an observer that witnesses this. The person who fell into the black hole’s time slows down, relative to the person watching. This is explained by Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity, which states that time is affected by how fast you are going when you’re at extreme speeds close to light.
An additional fact, a person that falls into a black hole will go through a process called 'spaghettification'

FACT SIX!
did you know that black holes weren't discovered yet until, X-Ray Astronomy was used?

Cygnus X-1 was the first black hole discovered in the 1960’s, and it’s 10 times more massive than the Sun.It's very large.

FACT SEVEN!
did you know that the closest black hole is probably not 1,600 light years away?

As some of us know,V4647 Sagitarii was thought to be 1,600 light-years away, but is further away than expected. Scientists now believe that this black hole is about 20,000 light years away.

FACT EIGHT!
did you know that we don't know if wormholes exist?

A wormholeis a speculative structure linking disparate points in spacetime or can be visualized as a tunnel with two ends at separate points in spacetime.
We don’t know if this event exists, since we don’t know too much about physics, but that also means that anything may be possible.

FACT NINE!
did you know that black holes are only dangerous if we get too close to it?

Black holes are safe to observed from a lengthy distance, but not if we get too close, which also means that it’s unlikely for a black hole to consume an entire universe.

FACT TEN!
last but not least, we should remember that black holes are widely used in Science Fictions.

There are a multitude of black holes portrayals in science fiction. Many examples include:Interstellar, Event Horizon, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Treasure Island, Superman: The Animated Series, Transformers.

Thanks for reading! I chose these facts because it's a branch of one of my interests, which is the astronomy field. I hope you enjoyed it!

Wormhole Theory 👇🏻
https://www.space.com/20881-wormholes.html

Most of us are not interested about the magnificant facts of outer space, but not me (COS). I will share 10 fun facts about the black hole (SS). The first fact is that, we actually can't directly see a black hole (SS). The black hole has a strong gravititional force, so it sucks everything around it (COS).The environment of a black hole appears black, because light can't escape from a black hole (CXS). This is why we call it as a 'black hole'.The second fact is our Milky Way probably has a black hole (SS). Earth isn't in danger, because the major black hole that astronomists believe to be in the Milky Way is light years away from Earth, so we're safe! (COXS). The third fact is that a dying star leads to a stellar black hole (SS). The process is called a supernova (SS). The remainder of the star's core collapses, because of a collapse of the pressure from nuclear reactions (CXS). A spot with hight density, but no volume forms – a black hole (CS). The next fact is that there are three categories of a black hole (SS). The three categories are Primordial black holes, Stellar black holes and Supermassive Black Holes (SS). The fifth fact is, black holes are funky (SS). The person who fell into the black hole’s time slows down, relative to the person watching (SS). Fact number six is black holes weren't discovered yet, untilX-Ray Astronomy was used (COS). Cygnus X-1 was the first black hole discovered in the 1960’s, and it’s 10 times more massive than the Sun (COS). The seventh fact, the closest black hole is probably not 1,600 light years away (SS). V4647 Sagitarii was thought to be 1,600 light-years away, but is now expected to be about 20,000 light years away (COS). The next fact, We don’t know if this event exists, since we don’t know too much about physics, but that also means that anything may be possible (COXS). Fact number nine is we can't be endangered by a black hole, if we don't get close enough to it (SS). We are safe to observe a black hole from a legthy distance (SS). The final fact is black holes are widely used in Science Fictions (SS). There are a multitude of black holes portrayals used in science fictions such as, Star Trek and Transformers (COS).
