I have had first experience in academic writing for bachelor degree, and while it was a generally enjoyable experience, however in ELSS class, I did make a number of mistakes during the essay deadlines because of my time arrangement. I observe this is my weaknesses. For me, the most significant aspect of this course was being on time with the deadlines and also being ready before the class starts. However, I learned some valuable lessons as a result of some relevant issues. During my assignments in ELSS, I increasingly realized that it was very crucial to preparing outline before starting to write academic essays. At first, because of a lack of data on my topic resulted from not having incorporate primary research into my study. This strategy, Denzin (1970) who is known as with his methodological triangulation, claims that the researchers allows to make use of various data gathering methods for ensuring internal validity. Expressing and transforming thought and ideas into physical form in English Academic Writing with considering logically would be very important element for me. This skill needs to be developed only by myself. Previously, I was using too long and complex sentences which made my paragraphs very confusing. Having complex and long sentences were one of my strengths which is the ability of intoducing clear message directly of using various examples as well as explanations clearly. This is similar to academic reading skills as well, because focusing on the main idea would support your argument much more stronger. After taking this course, I have accumulated various experiences in writing with various types of vocabulary and sentence structure in writing advanced sentences and organizing academic essays which are really necessary for me to introduce basic idea in writing. As a result, I think I am very well prepared and ready for the long reading texts and writing academic essays which are the main crucial elements of our education.
