Psychology is a science because you can observe experiments and draw conclusions.
For example, an experiment of chimps in captivity led psychologists to conclude that Chips are not capable of working together. They concluded this through setting up an experiment where a treat was placed under a heavy rock. Two chips knew they had to move the rock, but it was too heavy for just one to do it. They could not connect the idea that they could move it together, therefore proving the theory that chips cannot work together. Then, a human came in and the chimp understood that if he pulled, they could move the rock together.

In another chimp experiment, a tube about a foot tall with a treat at the bottom of it was put into a chimps cage. The animal saw that there was something in it and tried to reach in but his fingers were not long enough. He tried to use a stick to get it, but that did not work. Eventually he came up with the solution: fill the tube with water from his bowl and the treat will rise to the top!
