They are initially expensive to install/set up, however once you have set them up and have had them for a few years, they will begin to make you free power, and in some households they have such a large amount of them, they produce too much power for that household to use, and they sell it back to the grid, in turn making them money.

They have a larger set up/installation cost than solar panels, however they are more efficient. One small turbine would typically produce enough power a house, or even a small business.
