Pictures at an Exhibition-(#16 The Great Gate of Kiev)

The movement I chose is The Great Gate of Kiev. What is being expressed is royalty entering the room. It sounds like a type of classical music you hear when royalty enters a room in like a movie. I hear many different styles of classical music like more darkish type but also a poppy/jumpy style in the music. The way it relates to the painting is the painting looks like a castle or very big home that have royalty in it like this type of music is like royalty are entering the room and each time it changes to a different type of classical music it is a new royal person coming in.

What’s being expressed in the street art is someone reveling either something crazy or more artwork. The mood I feel for this peice is a calm thing turning into something crazy or strange so maybe even to go as far as classical music turning into rock or something else crazy. The reason I get this from this image is a bland gray wall with a person reviling or pulling out some crazy artwork.

My piece of artwork represented by music will be like at first a very bland piece of music being revealed into a loud and mabye a crazy kind of music. The instrument I will be using is the piano and I will do it in the tonality of major. I would say classical because it’s very bland in the beginning and I’m thinking I could make it into like a very loud and crazy classical piece of music like the artwork looks like. (But it might change to a different style.)

This contributes to my piece because it’s adding the element of slowly turning louder. I have added in little notes just so in open gaps it doesn’t sound like it ended.

https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/ef583ec5b106891f1f8dc4c12fa38ed43f9e659a
