In chapter 5, page 95, Kilpsinger plays "Aint We Got Fun" by Van & Schenck, on the piano when Daisy goes to Gatsby's house for the first time.
scene was set by Gatsby and Daisy mTheeeting Kilpsinger:
"I'm all out of practice, you see. I told you I couldn't play. I'm all out of prac--"
"Don't talk so much, old sport," commanded Gatsby. "Play!"

'In the morning,
In the evening,
Ain't we got fun--'
'One thing's sure and nothing's surer
The rich get richer and the poor get--children
In the meantime,
In between time--'

This song is used in "The Great Gatsby" because "the inclusion of the lyrics of this song highlights how now that Gatsby has Daisy back in his life and has seen that perhaps his mansion and wealth does not mean as much as he thought to her, that nothing matters anymore."

In Chapter 7, page 116, the song, "Three O'Clock in the Morning" by Paul Whiteman, was playing in the background in Gatsby's party when Nick, Tom, and Daisy were discussing Gatsby's success in wealth and also talking about possibly having another girl with them and having Gatsby forget his undying love for Daisy:

"'Three O'clock in the Morning' a neat, sad waltz of that year."

This song is used in "The Great Gatsby" because "this song could be interpreted to be a metaphor for how an old relationship has been rekindled, and that both Gatsby and Daisy’s hearts are still ‘beating in time’ with one another."

In chapter 4, page 78, "The Sheik of Araby" by Fats Waller, this song played when Jordan and Nick were driving through New York and Jordan had told the story of Gatsby and Daisy when they used to date and how Gatsby moved to Long Island in hopes of seeing Daisy.
The scene was set:
"When Jordan Baker had finished telling all this we had left the Plaza for half and hour and were driving in a victoria through Central Park. The sun had gone down behind the tall apartments of the movie stars in the West Fifties, and the clear voices of little girls, already gathered like crickets on the grass, rose through the hot twilight:

'I'm the Sheik of Araby.
Your love belongs to me.
At Night when you're asleep
Into you tent I'll creep--'

This song is used in "The Great Gatsby" because "these particular words from the piece of Jazz music show how Gatsby views Tom and Daisy’s relationship and how he feels Daisy’s love actually ‘belongs’ to Gatsby."

This song is the modern version of "Three O'clock in the Morning" by Paul Whiteman.
This song validates a sad-yet-happy tone to the meaning of the scene of Gatsby. Such as the "sad waltz" of "Three O'clock in the Morning," "Ultimately" holds a promising and forgiving future as a moral.

"But I'm still growing up
Into the one you can call your love
I don't know if I'll ever be enough
I'm throwing in my chips
I guess I tend to push my luck."

The lyrics can relate to Jay Gatsby and his corrupted ways of becoming wealthy just to see his blinded love for Daisy.

There is no "real love" since there are themes of adultery present.
