At the top were the Peninsulares who were the Spaniards actually born in Spain. Right underneath them were the "Creoles. Under the creoles were the "Mestizos" who were born of Spanish and Native American&nbsp; Indian parents. Under them were the Native American Indians. Lastly the enslaved people, such as the African slaves.
