Surprised Me:

Something that surprised me was the idea that there are plenty of ways to organize data. For example, our text talks about the different ways students could record data. Some students may prefer visuals, some students may create a chart, and some students prefer to create a check-list. It was helpful to read that not all students need to be working on the same thing. If one thing works for a certain student, that same strategy may not work for another student, and that is ok.

Something that I found to be challenging was the statistics on how many ELL students are in US Schools. This is something I will need to be aware of when having my own classroom, because I will need multiple strategies to help them succeed.
