The first night I came to the BCM, I almost turned around and went home before I even set foot in the door. It was the Monday night of my first day of college, and I had come for Freshman Family Groups. I couldn’t find parking, so I debated turning around and forgetting about it. I am so glad I didn’t turn around and walked through the doors of the BCM. The BCM brought me leadership opportunities, friendships, a deeper relationship with the Lord, accountability, and a husband. God worked through the BCM during my college career to bring me closer to Him. I was able to be surrounded by people who lived their lives on mission, wanted to know God deeper, and brought people alongside them in their walks with the Lord. My senior year became so busy with student teaching and planning a wedding that I didn’t get to be apart of the day-to-day aspects of the BCM, but I will be forever grateful for the years I spent at the BCM and the people it brought to me.

•God completely altered the course of my life in college. He called my to pursue vocational ministry when I was chasing after a doctorate in pharmacy. He closed doors and opened others over and over in order that I would see Him as my greatest treasure. He stretched me and grew me in ways I never would have expected, and I am so grateful that He remained faithful through all of it.
•The BCM has given me community, friends, discipleship, and a whole lot of growth. It encouraged and equipped me to better reach WKU’s campus. I am so thankful for the friends I made at the BCM and the way I was able to see God work in the lives of others. I love the BCM and it’s mission so much that I have decided to stay for another year as an intern.

During my four years at WKU, God taught me to completely trust him when making decisions-to be sensitive to the Holy spirit and attentive towards his guiding, ask people’s advice, and then just make a decision. Whether or not it is the “right” decision, he is in control and will use it. He also taught me so much about his patient and steadfast character. Time and time again he showed me I can trust him with any situation I face.
The BCM is a place that he used to teach me these things and many more. I’m so thankful for the opportunities the BCM gave me to learn more about God’s character and the person He wants me to be, to grow as an individual, to be involved in leadership, to experience and appreciate discipleship in a way I hadn’t before, and to be surrounded with a wonderful group of believers who knew me, loved me, and challenged me in my faith.

During my time at WKU, God has shown me just how sovereign and good He is. I can't begin to tell all the stories of His faithfulness to me. Many of those stories have taken place through the BCM, where I was welcomed as a freshmen and discipled from that point forward. To me, the BCM has been a place of community, accountability, growth, and laughter. It has been a community which God used to shape me and show me His love. I feel confident that I can step into the next chapter of life to go make disciples, knowing that my leaders and friends at the BCM will be cheering me on--and I will be cheering them on, too.

The first time I ever heard of the BCM, I was sitting in my dorm room Freshman year right after moving in. I was flipping through the stack of papers and cards they give all incoming freshman. One of the cards was a large rectangle describing the Baptist Campus Ministry. I was not a Christian at this time, but God had been convicting me and teaching me that I was in need of Christ. Within a week from reading that BCM card, a member of the BCM offered me a ride to his church where I came to realize that I needed to become a disciple of Jesus Christ and call him my lord. I cannot begin to tell you all that God has done for me through the BCM since that day. But I can tell you about the best thing the BCM has done for me. It led me to God. It led me to a loving Father who received this rebel back into his arms. It led me to a dying Son who bled and wept for the sins I committed. It led me to a patient and powerful Spirit who has comforted me and strengthened me every day since. I am so thankful for this. I'm so thankful for you all. I've thought a lot about what I might say in this little reflection. After coming up with all these grand closing thoughts for Senior Send-off, I think instead the best thing would be for me to just say honestly: thank you all, and I love you all.

When I first came to WKU I was not ready to have a relationship with Jesus, I was just ready to finish college. God grabbed my attention freshman year and reminded me that he is the center of my life not school. He has since shown me that we are not only to be discipled but to also make disciples, both of which I had never experienced before. God used the BCM to teach me both of these things by providing a place where I can lead a bible study and be mentored by others. I truly believe that God used the BCM to create a foundation where the rest of my life is dedicated to serving him. For that reason I am very grateful and owe a lot to the BCM.

God has helped me grow in so many ways since being in college. My understanding of true discipleship and fellowship have been formed and modeled through time in college to which I have been able to grow in Christ. The BCM has been a major part of my time in college. It allowed to meet friends that I will stay connected with long after my graduation, and I have also been blessed to call them brothers and sisters in Christ. I will forever be thankful for what God has done in my time at WKU and here at the BCM.

The biggest thing God has done in my life is brought me into communities where Christ is at the center. Both through the BCM and my local church’s college ministry, I’ve gained friends that hold me accountable, provide wisdom, and are there for me when I’m struggling. Speaking of the BCM, the impact has been amazing. Before coming, I wasn’t really involved in anything outside of service on Sundays. It really showed me how important being a part of a community of believers is. I would’ve never even considered leading a men’s retreat or preaching a sermon without the encouragement and help from the BCM.

College has been really tough. I have struggled a lot and grown a lot through this time. I have learned so many life lessons and made so many lifelong friends. The BCM has helped me through those struggles and shown me how to be a better leader. I have gotten so many opportunities to mentor and be mentored, to learn new things about the Lord and share that with others, and been challenged to love God and his people better. This time has been some of the most important years of my entire life. During this time, I have made friendships that will last for the rest of my life. This time has also allowed me to look at my faith and determine what it truly means to follow Christ. My path in college would not have been as straight if it wasn’t for God’s love for me. In high school I was luke-warm in my faith at best, which is a dangerous territory to be transitioning to an adult life. I praise God for putting believers around me to guide me to him everyday and grow me in my faith to prepare me for the rest of my life on this earth with Him. The BCM was an integral part in my spiritual growth. I have learned what it means to be a disciple, to go out and live my faith and share it with others everyday, and be a man of God. My faith has grown more throughout my college career than any other time in my life. Prior to coming to campus my faith was very stagnant, but God has placed me in positions and given me opportunities to take great steps in my walk with Him. I never planned to go to Western but coming to WKU has been the best decision of my life. I have met friends that I will have for a lifetime, experienced things I could only dream about, and made memories that I will never forget. Although being at WKU was never my plan, I am so glad that God led me here and showed me all the wonderful things that my time in college had to offer.

So many of my memories are attached to the people that I have met through the BCM, and so many of these friendships I will cherish forever. The BCM is also where I originally got my start in worship, and I will forever be grateful that I discovered this passion at the BCM. I have grown closer to God and my friends and the BCM has played such a huge role in that.

Throughout my college experience God has stretched me and grown me in ways I never thought possible. He has taught me to break out of my comfort zone and reach out and love people endlessly. I have also found myself relying on his goodness and knowing that he has ultimate control over my life and his plans are far greater than mine. The Lord has done so much in my life while in college. He showed me that my confidence can only come through him, he taught me to trust him even when plans don’t go my way, and he gifted me a pretty awesome husband.

BCM has been a sanctuary for me in more ways than one. I have laughed and cried there, written lesson plans, made amazing friends with other believers, and I was blessed to lead worship there throughout my senior year.

Throughout my time in college, God has been consistently growing me and drawing me closer to Him. I remember coming to freshmen family groups for the first time and seeing how the leaders boldly lived for Christ in their everyday lives. I knew that God was calling me out of the lukewarm faith that I had during high school. Since then, he has provided me with people to mentor me and given me people that I can mentor as well. I have grown substantially in my love and understanding of His Word, His creation, and what He did for me on the cross. I am thankful for how He has grown me in these four years and look forward to the growth that He has in store for me in the future. The BCM has played a huge role in my college career and I am so thankful for my time that I was able to spend here. First and foremost, it allowed me to connect and form deep friendships with other believers on campus that will continue on after I graduate. It has also given me opportunities to lead both on the leadership team and as a freshmen family group and d group leader. In God's Grace and Mercy He has shown me in college that while I am a sinner deserving separation from Him, Christ has died taking on the punishment of sin I deserved and has risen to defeat death. Before college and at the beginning of college, I was looking to find satisfaction in things of the world, thinking I could find hope in myself, and was not broken to the reality of my sin. But in God's Grace, He showed me the weight of my sin, and that when repenting and trusting in the work He has done, because of this hope of the Gospel I can be reconciled to Him through Christ, and that there is true life and true joy found in Him! Thankful that The Lord in His Sovereignty placed people in my life to point me to the hope found in the Gospel!
The BCM has shown me the importance of the local church, sharing the Gospel, Discipleship, and the unique, but short time that college students have to be an ambassador for Christ on campus. So thankful to have seen an incredible example of these important aspects lived out by leaders a part of the BCM. Thankful for the way those examples have encouraged and challenged me greatly in my relationship with Christ.

The summer before you got to WKU, I prayed so hard for a good friend. The majority of my group of people had graduated and moved away or were entering very different seasons of life. I had no idea that I would end up meeting you and you would become one of my core friends this late in my college career! I feel like I’m sad writing this bc I feel like this is not fun to say bye WKU and by Gracie. Gray Gray Holla you are my friend forever and ever and that isn’t changing. I love your quirks and all the memories we share from TalPals, to FUGE, to road ends in water, to wild eggs hahah, to Denver, to beach reach, to me signing you up to live in a house and not living there haha, to Christmas lights in your apartment, honestly I could go on all day. Abby P ilysm. You have been a constant source of friendship, love, and laughter in my college experience and I know there are several other individuals that would say the same! I am thankful for who you are and what you are about! I hate that the world is so weird right now but you have taken what’s been handed to you and made light through it and I think that speaks volumes about who you are. I am thankful for your hard work at your job, the BCM, and in college and I know that your serving doesn’t go in vain. You have so much joy that you spread to others and you ensure everyone knows where that joy is rooted in. We are graduating. We're graduating. (allow me to take us back to freshman year of high school)AHHHH WHAT THE HECK IT'S INSANE WE'RE FINALLY HERE I CAN'T BELIEVE WE DID IT AAHFHGKSJDSF.

We survived 4 years of college as sheltered little homeschoolers, and I think we did pretty well. I'm so thankful God allowed my childhood BFF and I to go to the same college together. We've had some of the best talks in our years being at BCM, and some of the best adventures. You have been there for me a lot man! Thank you for the solid conversations, and the spiritual guidance, and the accountability you have given me over the years. It has meant more than you may know. You have such a pure heart for God and his amazing word! You have helped me a lot in getting me out of my comfort zone when it comes to getting into gospel conversations; and help gain more understanding in even the principles of our faith an who God is! I also have enjoyed joining you somewhere off campus where something funny/humorous seemed to always happen like: Me sprinting up Hill all the way up the hill from Creason lot to meet you one on one for the first time 20 minutes late while carrying my broken bike, awkward funny moments in fast food restaurants, close car accidents, or even that one where we got locked out of your apartment/Car!!! Hopefully, we will get to have some more moments like these in the future too! I am so excited to see what God has in store for you and Taylor in these upcoming chapters!
