From completing the motivation assessment I have learnt that I scored highly on the development element, showing I’m likely to put more time and effort into my work to develop, and am motivated to complete activities that are likely to increase my knowledge and skills. Purpose, I had a middle score meaning I’m not really affected by the ethics of an organisation and the values the job has are not a major impact of if I am motivated to work for the brand or not. Control,I scored highly again showing I am energised when I have freedom in my work and timescales, and I am demotivated when I need to follow peoples orders closely and am motivated closely. Recognition, y energy and motivation levels are increased when I get recognised and praised for producing good work, and feel demotivated when I am taken for granted. I scored very low on failure adversity, meaning I am likely to stop trying when there is a high risk of failure. This is a huge improvement point for myself to work on. Reward I scored highly on meaning the prospect of earning more money increases my motivation. Stability, I am not really affected by, meaning I am not likely to work harder or try more if there is a risk of me being let go by a company.

Overall I have learnt, I am motivated by the idea of more money and rewards, along with being praised and recognised for the good work I produce. I am not motivated by the idea I might fail as I tend to run away from it, along with the risk of being let go by a company. Showing aspects I need to work on to increase my motivation in all areas and not get afraid and unmotivated by ideas of failure.

I completed an emotional intelligence quiz, and came out with a score of 41 which isn’t very high, so I have found an element i can work on to improve my relationships in the working world. I have found from this i can get along well with some people but not all. I have read up on how to boost me EI score, Daniel Goldman identified 5 elements which make ups EI.

Self-awareness.

Self-regulation.

Motivation.

Empathy.

Social skills.

To increase my score on self awareness I could focus on the present moment and how I am feeling, keep a journal, or do a personal SWOT and ask for feedback from colleagues to aid improvements.
Self regulation is about being in control, try to learn your own triggers and use techniques such as deep breathing to calm yourself down. Also taking responsibility for your actions and behaviours.
You can increase motivation by developing self discipline and celebrating small winds this will give you a sense of achievement and help you set a longer term goals.
Empathy is understanding how other people feel this can be developed by, using active listening skills and looking at peoples body language during conversations.
To develop good social skills you can first start by developing trust with people and building good working relationships. With this you should learn how to deal with conflict and put yourself in uncomfortable social situations to work on self-confidence.

I completed the personal resilience on the Careers page and I have built a medium resilience meaning I occasionally find it difficult to get going when I’ve been knocked down but I have built some resilience and I am able to cope with most events which happened to me. Some tips which may help me improve my resilience is, to help with coping with change I could consistently alter my mindset to positive, if I am moving within an organisation try to get to know people in the department I am moving into. Furthermore, see experiences as opportunities to meet new people and broaden knowledge.

To improve my problem-solving skills I could do more practice interview questions to be more prepared, workout pros and cons of available options and when in a challenging decision create a problem step plan breaking down the problem and making it easier to tackle.

To improve my self-confidence I can make an effort to learn peoples names, talk about the things I do well and the qualities I have, and try to have helpful voices in my head rather than undermining voices.

To improve my working with others I could practice active listening skills, try putting myself in other peoples shoes, and think about how to respond towards aggression from other people.

I believe if I follow these improvement points I will increase my personal resilience however I believe that this just grows as you develop in your working career and it is a long-term goal rather than a quick fix.

This process was really insightful of what an online digital computer interview has involved and what questions may come up within an interview!
Having looked at the feedback and rewatching the videos I believe i was very confident and put my points across well, I just need to consider a few elements such as: Speech rate, I was speaking a little too fast and could of paced myself a bit more, I could of used more real life scenarios to bring my points to life a little more. Finally, the quality of my videos wasn’t a high quality so if I was to do this in future I would try to use a different device.
