Glorious Slava

Slava’s summer was navy blue due to the night walks. Very romantic, isn’t it? But there’s nothing romantic in car fumes that filled Slava’s summer. Both of these points didn't stop him from feeling a pleasant thrill of adventure. For example, one night Slava took his friends on the mission to get their pal out of his apartment. The plan was quite vandal, though still unsuccessful. Probably the pal’s name is Bill because after the mission they went to watch Kill Bill. But this summer’s movie was the old Ghost in the Shell. The other adventure was a trip to

Sergiev Posad to collect sounds for the radio

Mochovaya 9. As we can see Slava’s summer was quite energetic, except the day V. The day when he got shot. By the vaccine, of course. Maybe this led him to the sad day when he thought of losing himself and his moral compass. But Slava decided to get rid of despondency and began reading the historical novel The Silver Prince. Now we see who’s his role models, that’s why he stayed up all night writing his coursework. You can have a glance at Slava and see how powerful he is. There’s no surprise: protein bars and drinks will make a machine out of you. Powerful thoughts come along, so Slava spoke to his friend about anarchy and the nature of man. Actually, it was like speaking to a new person: they haven’t seen each other for 3 years. And after all these very meaningful summer details Slava finally has let go of everything old. There’s a new season for something new.

Apples, Kvass and Gangsters - Sergey’s perfect summer

Meeting the sunrise with friends while walking in the Moscow region is what some of us are dreaming about. Sergey had a great opportunity to do it this summer.

Having celebrated his birthday with parents, Sergey the Gemini didn’t receive any presents. Why? It is a tradition that Sergey’s family follows. They present each other with good mood, cozy atmosphere, show love and give hugs every birthday. However, there is no place for the material stuff.

As a journalist, Sergey was working online in one of Barcelona’s magazine. What he understood out of it is that Spanish people are cute, but lazy. “Stereotype!”, - you may say. Sergey will disagree with you since he worked on a few articles about differences between the Spanish and Russian culture. He is the one who knows Spanish mentality the best. This stereotype is a true one and it’s useless to argue against it.

Collecting apples, drinking kvass and watching Soviet films made Sergey consider that everything has its pros and cons. The film “Ugrum-river” really impressed him. The main character - merchant-gangster earned money by killing people. Sergey the Gemini cannot accept it. He agrees that money is power, but people are vital as well. Such a great summer insight!

NIKITA’S SUMMER GETS YELLOW

The summer of 2021 was a weird one for Nikita Sulzhenko. Poor guy had only one month of rest instead of the well deserved three. Nikita was chilling in Chelyabinsk and enjoying the smell of fresh-cut grass when a deeply strange thing occurred. He had an unexpected lazy day. And then another one. And then a few more. Things started getting out of hand. However, he never gave up and watched a movie called "Cherry" with Tom Holland to spice his emotions up. It got him thinking about the fate of his generation and the way drugs ruin our lives. He proceeded to a book "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro to establish himself as one of the reading ones. After taking his knowledge to the next level Nikita decided to have a wild night in a tent with his girlfriend and then met the most beautiful sunrise of his life. He finished his summer with a classy move discovering a cocktail made of white wine, Schweppes and caramel syrup. What a stud that guy is. Absolutely insane.

Work hard, party harder – Lena’s summer

Dusty streets, cars – this was the smell of the summer. It was spent in the city due to the work and university practice, but the feeling of motivation made it productive and important. Meeting art-director of GQ was quite memorable, and the conversation with him made her think about art and destiny. The song by the Rolling Stones “Beast of Burden” added something romantic to the mood of the summer. When she was listening to it, she felt like there were butterflies in her stomach.

The happiest moment was her birthday on the 30th of August. Fizzy drinks, lots of food, colorful lights – everything was already great. But at one moment she was about to receive her birthday surprise. A black muscular man entered the room – he was a stripper! Yes, Lena’s friends ordered a stripper, and that made that night truly unforgettable. Perhaps this is one of the reasons Lena decided that the phrase of the summer would be “Oh my God!”

Everything is green. Salty sea smell of the pure joy is spreading around. If you are not dead — everything is possible (Happiness by Jungle) — it’s all about Kate’s summer.

Her nights with Dostoevsky and surfing hippie robbers like Keanu Reeves from The Pointbreak were full of meditation and peace. Even despite the loads of work, she felt like the happiest person alive as she wasn’t concentrating on bad days and was living her summer to the fullest.

One day she found out that the concert of AltJ she wanted to attend was postponed again to the pandemic. To escape the disappointing reality, Kate decided to go to the Summer Camp somewhere in suburbs… She had an amazing 10-days trip in which she brought her mind back in peace by talking with people nearby the fire.

One evening Kate was spending time
In her room and felt that she is not relaxed any more. She was lying in her bed when the screeching sound moved the air. It was a huge black silhouette in the window, and Kate got scared as she lived on the first floor. Her Lana Del Ray song got frozen as her body got stuck in fear too. The black “man” was getting closer, then the knocking followed. It was………. A girl. Then another lady appeared behind. There were many people who wanted to get to the dorm through the window this evening, as the security didn’t let them in at 11pm.

There was nothing to be afraid of. After a gasp of relief, Kate invited everybody in and the cosy chatty atmosphere was settled. They were having the most amazing conversation and the summer night was blooming. Kate was truly happy.

Some people say, that summer is the time when our dreams come true. I don't know if it is true. But what I cannot argue about is that our dreams are in our hands: we should go to them and be disciplined enough to reach them. This is also the position of Alyona , who visited Turkey this summer and had a flight on the ballon high in the marvelous orange sky of Cappadocia. At the ground Alyona red books about music and drank pimstea. As she is partly German and a perfectionist, she has a lot to say about different cultures and still has a lot to dream about. But I think she will manage to achieve her goals...

Her favorite colour is also what you say when you mean "depressed".

Her summer wasn't the happiest. Throughout the course of it Ann learnt about her cousin's divorce with her husband and got stressed over their daughter — a little girl, Ann sister's friend, who was left in the dark, not having been informed of what was happening.

Ann wasn't completely satisfied with the subject of her coursework – she had to finish it. The "Old-fashioned photography" appeared to be not her thing and she is still worried she'll get it all wrong. Because of them she passed out a chance to enjoy her stay in Saint Petersburg.

The sense of disappointment with herself because she read few books.

There were some happy days too: the end of session – finally!

Daria spent this summer in the countryside with her uncle and aunt. Sounds like the beginning of “Wizard of Oz” but it was in Moscow region and she wasn’t swept away by a tornado. Anyway, her summer was full of wonderful moments.

The first thing Daria saw from the window in the morning was a green forest. She still remembers its pleasant fresh smell and the smell of the wood her uncle bought to make fire.

The session ended and everything started getting better. Daria felt relieved and then relaxed. Her happiest day was the day she finally met with her friends on a birthday party. They couldn’t meet for months because of the tough schedule.

Then it was all about practice. Daria’s most memorable task was to interview a woman with an eating disorder. Her honest and brave story made Daria feel both sad and respectful.

Lisa's companion this summer was "Norwegian Wood" by Haruki Murakami. It was with her at work, at home and even in Dagestan. Can you imagine this picture? Lisa, sitting on the porch, enjoying the view of mountains and orange sky, drinking Caucasian tea and eating khychin, reads about tragic love. Such a romantic picture! Actually, I wish I were Lisa at this moment.

"I want you always to remember me. Will you remember that I existed, and that I stood next to you here like this?" Lisa will not only remember this summer, but she also will open her heart to the next. Think global and every summer will be the best.

And one more thing. On the last day of the summer Lisa and her boyfriend decided not to sleep all night and see the last summer sunrise. They were in a field surrounded by forest. It's a great way to say "hello and goodbye" to the summer, isn't it?
