Attitudes Towards Death
Mexico is one of the few countries that has a celebration towards death. It is tradition that in Mexico, in the 1st and 2nd of November, altars are made in order for our family members that have passed away to visit us. They include things that the family member liked (food, shoes, drinks, etc.), as well as the cempazutchil flowers, candles, etc., and each altar level has a meaning. The 1st of November is the day that children are celebrated and the 2nd is when other people are. This celebration was made thanks to the mixture of spanish and indigenous traditions. I could say that we most certainly embrace death and even though it is a well known tradition around the world, there's much to the tradition itself.

I´d like to compare the view of Earthquakes inside Mexican culture.

In the Big "C" culture part, many could think about the events of 1985 or 2017 that were tragic, and directly connect this event to a tragedy and Mexican´s solidarity.

But then you have what happened yesterday with the earthquake of 6.9 degrees, the first thing that happened was a reflection of little "c" culture. Make fun of it, before seeing a message of concern what happened is that I received a meme. It was mesmerizing yet unsurprising.

I chose this image because it represents the happy spirit of the Mexican people. Regardless of the difficulties that the country experiences and even though Mexico is one of the countries with more hours worked per person, we manage to keep optimistic and happy thanks to values like being with our families and having a more relaxed mentality. Mexico is the second happiest country in Latinamerica and between the four happiest worldwide.
