Messages for our Loved Ones on Dia de Los Muertos by Olas Lasalle

Dia de Los Muertos is all about bringing communities together to celebrate life and honor our deceased loved ones. The message of Dia de Los Muertos is one we want to pass on especially during this hectic time filled with uncertainty and pain. To do so, we're inviting members of the La Salle community, former and current, to leave the names of their loved ones, virtual notes for their loved ones, and/or messages of hope on this padlet. If you'd like to really acknowledge the Mexican holiday, we recommend listing the favorite foods of your loved ones, the favorite color of your loved one, and/or any memories you may have with them.

Jose was a son, husband, and the best father I could ever ask for. He passed away on July 31st of this year. He loved baseball and golf. His favorite color was red and his favorite foods were tostones con carne frita, and guineas. He loved rum and enjoyed presidente beers. His favorite movies were action movies and he’d spend his time listening to bachatas by Luis Segura, Zacarías Ferrería, and Raulin Rodríguez. If he wasn’t at home, you’d find him working hard at his bodegas to provide for his family.

My grandfather Alberto was a loved son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather. He passed away on September 17th, 2018 in Mexico. My mother, his only daughter that lived away from him always told us the amazing person he was. She always spoke about him enjoying to party, he taught his 15 children how to dance, sing, enjoy life. I still remember going to Mexico for the first time and him taking me to the country field to show me how a nopal grows 😂. He still lives vividly in every one of his descendants, and will continue to!
