He was born on September 21, 1947, in Portland, Maine. King's first horror novel, Carrie, was a huge success. He graduated in Maine University. A lot of his work was adapted to films. The first story he published was a short one and it appeared on  Startling Mystery Stories. During this time and alien invasion has occurred at the woods with parasite like worms that infect humans. 

"The Shining" Genre: Horror  Description: This story is about Jack Terrence who suffers from alcoholism. While in this alcoholic state he is both an aspiring writer but extremely aggressive. Jack accepts a job as a winter caretaker at the large, isolated Overlook Hotel in Colorado to prove that he has recovered from alcoholism and is now a responsible person.

"Misery" Genre: Thriller and Horror Description: This book is about a famous author who's name is Paul Sheldon. He is known for his famous romance series called misery. He later decides to switch off to other genres of writing and began writing a new series. He goes through a car crash in the snow, he is later rescued by a former nurse who turns out to be his "number one fan". 
"It" Genre: horror Description: This book is about a group of kids get terrorized by an evil entity that exploits the fears of its victims to disguise itself while hunting its prey.
"Carrie" Genre: horror Description: This story is about a girl named Carrie who is severely abused by her religious mother and her peers at high school.
