The plot revolves around a surrealistic world where the main character (Di Caprio), plays an exquisite role, given that he is a multifaceted actor who goes from strength to strength in each film. The story begins with a dream where the protagonist is a gentleman and unfolds with unconventional adventures and unexpected twists. The climax is reached when his nemesis, an unicorn, tries to pull him off of his dream. Moreover the soundtrack creates an evocative atmosphere. Suffice to say that it is a triumph of visual effects and an emotional rollercoaster. Not only is the film a fast-paced story but it also will spire the viewers. It is highly entertaining film. The plot revolves around a feudal lord (Ken Watanabe) that brings disgrace to its village as he tries to hunt the embodiment of the jungle, an elephant. His bravest warrior (Jake Gyllenhaal) will help him to learn from his mistakes.

The cast, brilliantly characterized for the feudal Japan, is uneven. Watanabe makes Gyllenhaal looks as an amateur every time they share dialogues with a electrifying performance.

The plot tries to be a nuanced exploration of ecologism and we can see some references with same themes as Studio Ghibli but it shadowed trying to be a triumph of visual effects like Lord of the Rings.

The film is a bingable feast for the eyes with a welcomed Watanabe for those who doesn't want to put to test their neurons understanding the reasons of the characters.
