This started to developed as a concept during the Indian independence movement fought against the colonial British. The nationalism of India is an instance of territorial nationalism and it involves all its people no matter where you come from. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Revolt of 1857 was a major, but ultimately unsuccessful, uprising in India in 1857–58. It was against the rule of British East India Company. This was the FIRIST war of the independence. It began as a revolt of the sepoys of the Company’s army but eventually secured the participation of the masses. The causes of the war were Political, Social and Religious, Economic. The war went back and forth many times.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The division of Bengal carried out by the British viceroy in India, Lord Curzon, despite strong Indian nationalist opposition. It began a transformation of the Indian National Congress from a middle-class pressure group into a nationwide mass movement. The province had grown too large to handle under a single administration so it split up. East and west Bengal were reunited; Assam again became a chief commissionership, while Bihar and Orissa were separated to form a new province. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The original name All India Muslim League a political group that led the movement calling for a separate Muslim nation to be created at the time of the partition of British India. The Muslim League was founded in 1906 to safeguard the rights of Indian Muslims. This league was held by Mohammed Ali Jinnah. Not till 1940 the league called for the formation of a Muslim state that would be separate from the projected independent country of India. The Indian  muslims were worried that the hindus would take over.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The arrival in India Gandhiji had accepted the invitation of his political mentor Gokhale. He landed at Mumbai port. A warm welcome was awaited for his arrival and he was treated as a Hero there. People there loved him. Gandhi was an Indian lawyer, nti-colonial nationalist, and political ethicist, who employed nonviolent resistance. He  lead the successful campaign for India's independence from British Rule. He is an important icon to India.</div>]]></description>
