         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;microscopes generally grew lighter in weight which made them more convenient to use and there were achromatic lenses for viewers to see the colours of the cells. There were also new ways to illuminate specimens and control light, and the bases of compound microscopes became more stable.</div>]]></description>
