Then we watched the movie of the story. They determined the problem as the egg rolling out of its nest and falling into the nest of the mother duck. For this reason, they decided to build a warm and durable nest for the comfort of the egg and then for the comfort of the chicks. In groups of four they pointed out the deeper significations of the story. They identified problems as DISCRIMINATION, BULLYING, SUFFERING, THE SEARCHING FOR LOVE, even INITIATIC JOURNEY. Then, in pairs, they debate upon a differrent ending of the story, they illustrated it by drawings and by CHATTER PIX app ( the fun part they enjoied the most). In the end, they summed up that „The little duckling” is much more than the story of a little, ugly and unwanted duck....

We read and watched an animated film based on H.K. Andersen's fairy tale "The Ugly Duckling".

This fairy tale is dominated by bullying, so we decided to recreate the fairy tale in a different way. We built a shadow theatre and characters out of lego blocks. We acted out the story without bullying. We solved the wintering problems of the birds, because some of them don't fly away for some reason.
