I have used my website to introduce myself to all my students and parents. I plan on using it throughout the year to inform parents about upcoming programs. I've also created an Edmodo page to tell people about the Veteran's Day assembly. In my classroom, I have used the iPad to take pics and videos of students' achievements and plan to put them on the school facebook page. I also have received emails of pics of Veterans for the Power Point presentation I plan to create for the assembly. Last but not least, I use YouTube to show fun sing along videos of holiday songs and display lyrics for kids to sing with. I also display lyrics through Word and Power Point.

I have found that the 'wh' app you provided from the 'appy Holidays workshop has been very beneficial. I have been able to tailor it to my student's needs/goals and change some of the questions to use it several times in different ways. I am using the iPad as a motivator/reward for a low functioning Autistic student who is learning to make requests using pictures and has requested the iPad and responded favorable to a music app I have on it.

Last quarter I did some video modeling with a particularly difficult student so he could see his behavior and I could supplement the video with /visuals/pictographs of his behavior.

It is a perfect tool for Kindergarten. They LOVE to write on the board with the "special" pen. I put together a quick and simple slide using the clone feature that helped us graph the apple they think tasted the best. 

2nd quarter I learned about a program called Seesaw that is like Facebook but is private-for your class only.  It allows students to scan a QR code and take a picture of something they are working on in school and share it with their parents.  I like that it will not post until the teacher approves it.  It also, like Facebook, allows the teacher to post pictures and notes for parents.  When you post something you select who you want to view the post.  This is a handy feature if you have a picture with only one or two students so you can tag only those students.  

3rd quarter I used the Video Download Helper to save youtube videos to my desktop when we were studying chicks, or learning about the water cycle.

4th quarter Google docs and Dropbox have become my friends. I love that I can save files to these drives and access them from home without having to carry a flashdrive. I also use it often to look up files that were shared with me in the past. We talked about the very unhappy story of Notre Dame de Paris (everyone dies except for the goat and a slimy villain), compared to the Disney version of Hunchback of Notre Dame. Then they used Chromebooks to explore the Paris with the google tour including a treasure hunt in a cemetery, a guided video tour of the catacombs. panoramic views from Notre Dame, a 3D tour of the Opera including backstage, and the ability to explore inside the Louvre in 3D.

I also added some study tools to my website for students to print and use as they need. I did, however, want students to utilize quality primary sources in their research, which is why I created a page where students could find links to primary sources that they could use on their projects. Furthermore, I also asked students to send me links via email where I could then update the page with additional sites with primary sources. My website is a work in progress. At the beginning of the year, I added a picture of me and my family with a description to assist the parents of my students in knowing who I am! Also, on my website I have added a scrapbook with student pictures. I put an album on my site including more student pictures. I have used the IPad for many things, including in meeting IEP goals. One of my students came to me with an IEP goal of identifying each student in her regular classroom. With permission from her teacher and all parents, I was able to add pictures of each student along with names. For data collection, we go through the students and document which ones she can correctly identify (she knows 18/20)!! Also, two of my students made ITrailers by using pictures of themselves throughout the year. I also attached lyrics, youtube videos, letters, and music to my website, so they could practice at home with their kids or have the information if they lost it or it never found its way home. During their program, I also showed the parents videos on the big screen of when their kids were first starting off in music and then also how they played instruments. I used Powerpoint and a projector/laptop to place them in an organized manner, so I could be organized at the program.
