I chose grass because of its benefits to society and the environment. On a societal level, it takes people away from the "mainstream" and gives us a chance to connect both physically and mentally with nature. I chose the rain forest because I think that this is the most endangered biome. Due to deforestation - in it's many forms-we're losing 18.7 million acres of forest a year. That's equivalent to 27 soccer fields every minute. Many of the world"s most threatened endangered animals live in the forest, and, 1.6 billion people rely on the benefits the forest has to offer, including food, fresh water, clothing, traditional medicine and shelter.

I chose this picture of irrigation to match the article :" Towards a  new Green Revolution".  The third agricultural revolution  was marked by the global spread of hybridized seeds, the use of pesticides, and irrigation. This article describes the past green revolution while introducing the problems with it and solutions for a new one.

We will not have any space or usable land. We'll have to start stacking our agriculture and use artificial light, and GMOs will be a must, just to survive.
