Lack of personal touch and attention from real relationships that we are suppose to have justifies what Ms.Sherry mentioned on her Ted Talk, where in the feeling that no one listening makes us want to spend more time with machines such us our gadgets that seem to care about us. Every individual has felt this emptiness of not having someone who you can have a genuinely communication with, its a need, a fail to have results to seeking. 
 Nowadays people have a gigantic audience unlike before when they were limited face to face contacts.We are forming connections we would have never had the chance to in the past. Its easier now to inform and persuade wide range of people and be part of one's community but this does not mean that this fulfill now all the social needs of an individual.  A basic human need is to be heard listened and understood. Ironically that is why people keep on checking their phones. On her ted talk she have stated that those phones in our pockets are changing our minds and hearts because they offer us three gratifying fantasies, first is that we can put our attention wherever we wanted to be, second that we will always be heard and last is that we will never have to be alone. Its reality. It seems like they are connecting, they share ideas,likes each others posts and comments ,they even send private messages. If all of this social media platforms is effective why does people still experience emptiness? 
We expect more from technology and less from each other because technology appeals to us most where we are most vulnerable.Just how Ms. Sherry stand, it turns that we need it and we cannot make it without it because lots of people used to it. Though do we really receive what we us human need? No.
