Relation to NATO: With the Truman Doctrine being signed, and 2 years later the formation of NATO it had proved that the U.S. would stop the spread of communism by aiding other countries who were under attack of being influenced by the Soviets.

Relation to USSR 1st A-bomb test: With the USSR testing the RDS-1 it had led the U.S. to make an even more powerful weapon. The H-bomb was a show to make the Soviets scared that the U.S. could develop such a powerful weapon.

Relation to Explorer I: The Sputnik being launched made the U.S. also want to launch something into space. The Explorer I was launched a year later to compete in the space race.

Sig: The placement of the nuclear missiles being placed right near the U.S. had made the U.S. in need of getting rid of those missiles. Khrushchev had placed the missiles in Cuba as a show for protection against the U.S. Another reason is due to the fact that a year earlier the U.S. had placed nuclear missiles in Turkey which were in close range to the Soviets.

Relation to Bay of Pigs: The Cuban Missile Crisis relates to the Bay of Pigs in the sense that the Soviets wanted to show that they would protect Fidel Castro from the U.S. The failed attempts to remove Fidel and him agreeing to the missiles being placed in Cuba had strengthen the relationship between the USSR and Fidel.

Sig: This would be a step into reducing the amount of nuclear weapons being tested from all parties. This would stop any nuclear weapon from being tested and causing harm to the planet. It also showed the USSR and U.S. would be willing to work together in an important manner.

Relation to CMC: The Cuban Missile Crisis had shown that the U.S. or the Soviet Union was not ready to handle a nuclear war. The CMC was a moment where the 2 superpowers were close to having a nuclear war. With this treaty being signed it showed that both nations would not come close to a conflict like this.

Relation to Cuban Missile Crisis: The failed Bay of Pigs Invasion allowed the Soviet Union to place missiles in Cuba which began the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Sig: By signing SALT I it was another show that the USSR and the US were willing to work together to limit the use of nuclear weapons and tests/test sites. It would restrain the US and the Soviet Union from using missiles.

Relation to Nuclear Test Ban Treaty: SALT I was another treaty that had limited the amount of weapons the both nations would use. It would prevent them from testing nuclear weapons and also limit the amount of ballistic missiles created.

Sig: It was the 1st step to get Germany back reunited after being separated, West and East Berlin. This would reunite Germany in 1990 being a big step of "ending" the Cold war. The Berlin wall was often referred to as the "Iron Curtain" which is what divided democracy(West Berlin) into communism(East Berlin). With the fall of the Berlin wall it was a step closer to the USSR dissolving in 1991.

Relates to SALT I: With the signing of SALT I and II it was a big moment for the 2 nations to realize that spending so much money on nuclear weapons was not sustainable, which was one of the downfalls to the Soviet Union. The fall of the Berlin wall was another reason for the USSR to collapse as East Berlin was reunited with West Berlin.

Sig: The U.S. launched the Explorer I which started the space race between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. This was a response to the Sputnik I and II launched by the Soviet Union.

Relation to Sputnik: The Sputnik was launched a year before in which the U.S. responded by sending their own object into space. This was the beginning of the U.S. Space age to start dominating the space world against the USSR.
