Why do I teach?: I teach because I want upcoming generations to be prepared for their future.

My expectations for my students: I expect my student to be respectful and do everything they can to be successful.

Dear Parents and Students,

 Welcome to Mr. Skotko's 8th grade Social Studies class for the 2015-2016 school year.  Starting this year, 8th graders will be learning American History from 1800-1900 for the first semester and Arkansas History for the second.  I look forward to teaching this new group of 8th graders and giving them what they need to succeed in my class.

 A resource that many teachers are beginning to use this year is padlet.com to communicate with teachers this year.  I will be using padlet to link assignments and information to parents and students as the year goes on.  So please check the padlet page regularly for new things.

 Students will have several materials for my class.  Students will need:

• MMS Agenda Book

• Pencils or Blue/Black Pens (required everyday)

• Notebook Paper (required everyday)

• A one inch binder with pockets. (Required everyday)

• Color pencils

Also, students will be required to follow the rules and procedures outlined in the Discipline Management Plan, Maumelle Middle School Handbook, and PCSSD Handbook.  Not following these rules will result in the consequences that are outlined in those documents.
