This picture of a the girl cooking represents Jeannette when she was three and was able to cook hot dogs, after the incident where she got severe burns and was sent to the hospital. The nurses and doctors asked Jeannette what she was doing cooking hot dogs by herself at that age and Jeannette said it was very simple and her mom would let her. This picture of the broken glass represents how Rex made a promise of he would build a Glass castle until one Rex started to dump garbage on the foundation of the glass castle. This picture represents the time when Rex was teaching Jeannette how to swim and every time Jeannette started sinking he would rescue her and through he back in the water. After the lesson was over Jeannette learned how to swim, but was upset with Rex. This is an example of  forgiveness because Jeannette agreed with his point about "if you don't want to sink, you better figure out how to swim".

This picture represents the stories that Rex would tell and Jeannette described him as a dramatic storyteller. This is an example of fantasy vs. reality because Jeannette slowly realized that the stories were nothing more than a dream based on her own illusions about her father.
