If you say a movie I could find another from the same genre.
If its a superhero movie it tends to be that the superhero has a moment of doubt and feels defeated till they triumph (like always, 'shakes head') and the villain is somewhat defeated but coincidentally returns for the sequel (if the movie doesn't flop of course..)

.However, it is sometimes in a world just like ours but with differences like, superheroes and melodramatic villains, such as: Loki from the MCU and Kylo Ren from Star Wars.

. If the movies are magical themed they tend to be more separated from the real world to keep it from seeming less immersive.

.But if the movies are more of a superhero type then they tend to be more involving of the real world as they might make references
 or even have sponsorships like: Batman driving a newly designed Mercedes.

It's also easier than matching fantasy with a horror, they just don't fit as well.
