Some people don't realize how much an impact coders have on the patient experience since we do not have face to face contact. When someone is sick the last thing they need to worry about is an incorrect bill. Accurate coding insures accurate bills and less stress. Timely accurate claims summitted to insurance companies insures prompt payment so that Moffit has the funds to give the very best care to our patients. We may be the unseen department, however, we want to make the patient experience the best in the world.

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle" -Plato. The Virtual Health Experience Department is unique in that even though we don't get to see our patients face to face we help ease their anxiety and provide a level of support that gives them a sigh of relief when it comes to navigating their virtual appointment, which is just as important as a in person visit. I always remember to smile even on the phone because it can be heard!

Love helping the patients and families, from the first day on campus asking HR to do my MA externship I knew that MOFFITT was different. Love seeing patients smile when you come up to them and help them find that one Clinic no ones knows where it is or when you call the 93 years old patient to teach them how to use a phone for other things other than making a call or sending a text. I love the difference that each one of US make on every patient and family member we help and support. I have for here for 8 years and hopefully I will be here for 8 more!!
