After learning in depth about physical theatre and doing a couple of warm-ups. We were given the task to imagine that we had created a rocket ship that could fly to Mars using physical theatre. Since we had a range of height and different weight placement, we used this by placing the light people and balancing on the hands of strong people who could easily carry them and toss them in the air for a safe landing so that showed the taking off and landing and we had to have spacial awareness from our part o that we don’t bump into each other we used physical theatre in different ways as well such as the doors we had people play as doors of the spaceship as well steps it was very well done we got positive reviews what we could have done better Is stay in character when someone made a joke. 

You could define Physical theatre as a form of theatre that puts emphasis on movement rather than dialogue. But remember there are a huge number of variations as the genre covers a broad range of work. But essentially Physical theatre is anything that puts the human body at the center of the storytelling process. As a result, it’s often abstract in style, using movement in a stylised and representational way. With the expression of ideas choreographed through movement, such performers use very little or no dialogue at all.

DV8 are arguably among the main practitioners of Physical theatre as a ‘full’ art form. They focus on looking at the dramatic potential that can be unlocked from movement. Their work is often described as existing at a crossroads where dance, sound, and drama meet. DV8 are well known for using Physical theatre to explore complex aspects of human relationships and social or cultural issues.

 In a drama, stimuli are resources that are used to establish the context, focus, and purpose of the dramatic topic being presented. Materials used as stimuli can be visual or aural in nature and can represent various genres and forms of either Western theater or theater traditions from other cultures. It can be in a form of a song, word, picture, poem One person must enter and use the chair as an object other than a chair (e.g. an umbrella)The next person will go in and react to the person and their object, they will then take the object and turn it into something else that they imagine it could be. This was just a warm and a quick activity to help us be creative and more opened minded for the upcoming tasks and for our final piece.
