Appreciate what God has sent down to earth. Look at that thing as sustenance because if we don't have all of this, how are we going to live?

God has given us all kinds of things so God has given us trust to take care of them in a balanced manner.

Our trust is to manage the sustenance we get in balance, not too much.

Shahadah:

• The Shahadah is expressed in the declaration: "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."

• It serves as the entry point to Islam, clarifying one's acceptance to the Islamic faith.

Prayer (Salat):

• Salat is the ritual prayer performed by Muslims five times a day.

• It serves as a means of spiritual connection with Allah, seeking guidance, forgiveness, and expressing gratitude.

Fasting in the month of Ramadan:

• During this month, Muslims abstain from food, drink, smoking, and marital relations from dawn until sunset throughout Ramadan.

• Fasting during Ramadan is obligatory for all adult Muslims, with exceptions for those who are ill, pregnant, nursing, traveling, or menstruating.

Zakat (Almsgiving):

• Zakat is the obligatory charity given by Muslims to support those in need and to purify their wealth.

• Zakat funds are distributed to specific categories of recipients, such as the poor, needy, indebted, wayfarers, and those who administer the collection and distribution of Zakat.

Hajj (Pilgrimage to Mecca):

• It is obligatory for Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey at least once in their lifetime.

• The rituals of Hajj include circling the Kaaba, performing Sa'i (walking between the hills of Safa and Marwah), standing in Arafat, and symbolic acts like stoning the pillars at Mina and sacrificing an animal.

Why is Kushu' necessary?

• To communicate with Allah more closely

• Being Muslim

• Cleanliness of the body, clothing, and the place of prayer from impurities (place of sujud)

• Free from major and minor impurities

• Covering part of the body as required

• Facing the Qibla (direction towards Mecca)

• Praying within the prayer time with certainty

• Knowing how to pray

Act as economic assistance to those in need, such as the poor, needy, indebted, wayfarers, and those who administer the collection and distribution of Zakat.

Purifying sins (as we commit sins every day)

Forgiveness (Maghfirah) - sins are forgiven

The wealth received is blessed

Successful are those who purify their wealth

Our sustenance includes the sustenance of others

Zakat on wealth & Zakat al-Fitr

Avoiding arrogance (takbur)

Purifying the heart from greed and pride

Therefore, one must pay Zakat if he is able

Surah Al-Ahzab 33:35, for men and women who fast, for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great rewards

Attaining the degree of Al-Birr (the righteous); receiving the drink of paradise

Al-Birr: refers to righteousness, goodness, and acts of virtue (for example, sacrificing what we cherish)

Concessions in Fasting:

• Islam acknowledges that there are circumstances where individuals may face difficulties in observing the fast during Ramadan, including illness, pregnancy, breastfeeding, traveling, and old age.

• In such cases, they are allowed to break their fast temporarily and Qada' (make up for the missed days) later when the impediment ceases.

• The concessions granted are considered a mercy and blessing from Allah.

  
  

Paying Fidyah (Compensation):

• Fidyah is the compensation paid by those unable to fast due to valid reasons and also unable to make up for missed fasts later.

• The amount of Fidyah is equivalent to feeding a needy person for each missed day of fasting. This could be done by providing a meal or its monetary equivalent to someone in need.

  
  

Ramadan, the Month:

• Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, during which Muslims around the world observe fasting from dawn until sunset.

• Muslims engage in additional acts of worship, such as Taraweeh prayers, recitation of the Quran, charity, and seeking forgiveness during this blessed month.

  
  

17th Ramadan: The Revelation of the Quran:

• The 17th day of Ramadan holds special significance in Islamic history as it is believed to be the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad by the Angel Gabriel in the cave of Hira.

• This event marks the beginning of the revelation of the Quran, which continued for approximately 23 years until the completion of the prophetic mission.
