- Father of Henry was directly killed by Frankland because of the experiments with the HOUND-drug
- major elements/ characters got changed, left out (baskerville is a military lab, stapeletons sister, dr mortimer, criminal, butler, explosion at the end) to fit the (modern) plot
- plot structure was changed (trap set in middle, not planned) -> sherlock let watson down in serien and book (book: made him think he was absent; series: set him up in the lab [drug])
