The abolition movement  began in the revolutionary era.
Although slavery ended in North, but way still accepted slavery in South.
William Lloyd was a vocal abolitionist and publisher of the newspaper The Liberator.
Fredrick douglass, an  escaped slave, who was against slavery quickly became a leader in the abolitionist movement.
Harriet Tubman was a conductor on the Underground Railroad secretly helped runaway slaves.
