The college crest represents many different religious affiliations. This crest was designed in 1950. The Celtic Cross on the left marks a badge of the Christian Brothers and their Irish origins, as well as the Cross of Christ. The open book on the right side of the cross symbolises teaching and our openness to learning, knowledge, understanding and wisdom. The ALPHA and OMEGA printed on the book symbolise that our beginning and end is God. The star and rays symbolise that God is the director of our teaching and learning. The star represents faith and hope while the rays represent the direction of our aspirations. The banner along the bottom of the crest which reads Servire Deo Saphere means 'To serve God is to be Wise'.

How Have I Experienced Spirituality at Terrace?

I experience religious and secular spirituality at Terrace on a day to day basis. Whether it be through things such as supporting the TTN in buying some of their products (coffee) and donating to their cause or more simple things such as enjoying the company of friends and having a good time at school and being part of the Terrace community which all members cherish and hold with pride. I experience the feeling of being connected to a much larger community than the one I live my day to day life in regularly. Even some small things such as rituals conducted each week at Terrace e.g. College assembly and House assembly radiate a feeling of spirituality as everyone is together and a strong sense of community is present. At Terrace, although I witness spirituality in many different forms, the symbol which holds the most meaning to me is the strong sense of community, pride and school spirit which can be seen on a day to day basis. This is mostly because I am part of and involved in this community myself.
