Winslow - 1. Incorporate more "team teaching" - Possibly allow kids that need "extra" help be pulled for a few minutes each week to receive help from a cooperating teacher from the same grade level while the other grade level teacher is working with the rest. Obviously this would need to take place with an Assistant also due to the possibility of high numbers. Teachers could rotate the schedule to accommodate. 2. In PE I have students count out loud their exercises. Sometimes we start at 1 and other times it may be something random. For example, "Count jumping jacks #80-100." It's possible we could also incorporate word building or letter sounds along with number skills. 3. Thach I think we need to continue tutoring and the intervention program. However, I think we need more input from from the teachers that work with our students on a daily basis. I can find out what books they are reading in class and choose activities that are related to those books. Continue to teach the fundamentals that are necessary for students to become good readers.
