Below is a graphic of the the structure of the research. 

Research Years 1-4:  
Researches spent the first four years of the study developing individual interventions inside the classroom in middle grades in collaboration with teachers. They focused on content areas such as social studies, English language arts, and science. 

Research Years 5-6: 
 Next the researchers studied the individual projects and their integration into a two-year school-wide intervention.
