Mom came looking for me specifically because she wanted a tortie as we are called. She found me at the humane society when I was three years old. I am FIV positive (feline HIV) so no one really wanted me. That was their loss because I am the most affectionate and talkative cat. I greet Mom with lots of chirping whenever she enters the room. I'm also an aggressive cuddler. Sometimes I will ask politely and climb into Mom's lap and tap her on the nose to ask her to pet me, but most of the time I just throw myself into her lap and stay there for hours. I'm a weird cat in that I love having my belly rubbed and will let you scratch my belly for hours. I'm kind of like a dog in that I will come when I'm called, and I drool when I'm happy -- usually after seeing Mom when she's been away on a trip. But at the same time, I am afraid of everything. If Mom sneezes while I'm in her lap, I'll head for the hills. Kim rescued me when I was a baby, and I live at her parents house in Illinois. I'm 13 years old, and everyone is terrified of me. I'm 14 pounds of mean, mean, mean. You can pet me about three times before I will lunge at you and sink my teeth into your arm while kicking as hard as I can. When I'm hungry or just feeling my inner monster come out, I will lunge at you out of nowhere and latch on and bite and kick. This is not just sometimes; I do this multiple times a day. I'm also on perpetual house arrest because I like to pick fights with the local wildlife. Kim's brother broke up a fight between me and a fox once. My last tussle with a possum almost cost me an eye. My parents got tired of the vet bills, so I have to stay inside. I'm not one of those cool rough and tumble cats. I'm just kinda dumb. There's a neighbor cat that I hate because she comes and screams at me through the glass doors on our porch; I like to scream back. Kim has learned that the only way to deal with my aggressiveness is to hit me with the palm of her hand as soon as I lunge. This knocks me back, and I'll just run away. Normally Kim does not condone violence against animals, but Kim's mom has had to get shots and antibiotics because my bites have gotten infected. I've terrorized this house for 13 years and plan to live forever. I definitely need to be on kitty Prozac.
