The Beginning

I was born on St.Patrick day 2005, 03/17/2005. Now before I bring up my parents I have to explain my parents I was born to my Mexican immigrant mother, as for my dad he just about vanished into thin air the moment he heard my mom was pregnant. So my moms friend stepped In to be in the father position, they were never really together though. I never knew this until middle school.

Growing Up/Important Moment in School

While I grew I was a very quiet kid, I kept to my self and played a lot of video games and watched a lot of TV. I was a only child. My family lived In Texas for the first few years of my life despite being born In San Francisco, California. After a while of living in Texas close to other family, my parents decided to move back to California. This move lead to a school change obviously, since my whole life was just turned upside down my parents decided to listen to me and let me start Taekwondo, this wasn't really much help self defense wise to be honest but It did lead me to meet my best friend as we both attended the same dojo and the same school we made a quick connection and through him I met another one of my long time friends.

World View Change

When I got into middle school my world got flipped upside down once again due to becoming aware of my families financial troubles not only that I also had become aware of my parents fighting they had problems with each other which isn't really good for the mental health of their adolescent son. due to these things I kinda had to mature as a person quicker than any other kid at that time. We moved away from my dad which was a pretty difficult thing to go through. The moment I turned 14 and was able to legally work my freshman year of high school I took that chance imminently as I knew my parents financial situation. These things definitely had a bigger effect on me than anything else.

High School

In high school I met a lot of new people and had a lot of fun. The 4 years went by super fast. In my fall senior semester, I don't really know what happened but It was probably the worst time mentally I've had in my life I was pretty sure I was depressed I know that word is used very lightly these days but it was a sucky time for me. But overall my high school experience was great especially going through it with all my friends.

After getting past 12 years of boring classes and fun times, we graduated. It felt weird, I have been waiting for that moment since like the 3rd grade and it just felt weird finally achieving it. Over the summer I felt a void I liked the routine that having school would give me. I started going to classes at CSM and it feels like that void has been filled. I'm still experiencing this part and I hope it continues this way.

Future CSM

I plan to get my associates in science for Engineering Technology in about 2-2.5 years of classes. Maybe even stop being a bum and get my license.

Future Transfer

I don't really know where I wanna transfer too as financials are a big worry for me but I do plan on going to another school after CSM

Future Career

Just like my transfer my Career is also shrouded in mystery as I really don't know what to do with myself but In "The Engineer's Career Guide" by Hocshette John. It is stated that

"Successful careers start with you. It’s about your abilities to plan and control your career advancement. Do you have a career plan? Are you in control of your career? If you ask most people these questions, they usually respond with “yes,” when, in fact, they have no plan and no control. They proceed along, day after day, assuming their next promotion is just around the corner but when nothing happens, they don’t understand why." (PG. 3)

This quote that I pulled, tells me that my future career is dependent on me I control my future. I have to realize that my future isn't just dumb luck my future is based on the plan I use and the work I put in. So with this knowledge I need to work on a plan for my career.

During my academic journey, I learned essential skills like goal setting and time management. Setting clear objectives helped me not only pass my current class but excel in other subjects too. This goal-setting process gave me a roadmap for success and a sense of direction. Time management became crucial to balance academics and personal life. Allocating time for studying, completing assignments, and going out with family and friends became essential. Finding this balance improved my overall well-being and academic success. These skills, gained through intentional effort, are not just for passing classes but are valuable tools for future challenges. As I progress in my education, the lessons in goal setting and time management are pillars of resilience and achievement. These skills will really come and help me during my next semester as I take classes and finally start training to play on the water polo team for next school year.

Ah-Ha moment

I had a lot of classes this semester and a lot more work than I realized I would have but about a month or two in i had a revelation. I just wont do the work I don't want to do. That sounds really like lazy but In my head it is like, not every assignment I do is gonna be life or death or more pass or fail. I do no have to unnecessarily stress my self out just for a assignment that is only gonna drop my grade 0.05%. This moment really brought my stress down as I had really stressed my self out trying to complete every assignment known to man. Another Ah-Ha moment I had this semester is that asking for help from the teachers is not a inconvenience it is what they are there for and that really helped me out to get through one of my other classes

looking Ahead

Looking ahead at my academic goals I am looking to hopefully graduate from CSM with a AS degree in 3 years and I am looking to transfer from her as a Mechanical engineering major to San Jose State University. I hopefully will pass all my classes but at this point it seems like a stretch with all the math classes I have to take. I also hope that when I finally start swimming and training for the water polo season I will actually be somewhat of a competent player. I am still looking to get my license and maybe even buy a car at some point. Looking back on my goals from earlier this semester I do not think they have shifted I feel as if they are still the same. But you never know maybe my goals will change with time. Lets hope I pass all of my classes I guess.
