The moon is my favorite light in the sky and whenever it is a full moon, I feel like it doesn’t just start a new phase for itself, but also a chance to refresh for me. The scarlet tiger lily is my favorite flower, and it represents lofty ambitions, something I definitely possess. Lastly, the M letter is a symbol relating to virgo which reflects my zodiac sign. The Urnes snakes were used in ancient Norse civilizations to symbolize flexibility, change, and fluidity. The Athenian Owl was the insignia of  the goddess Athena, and represents wisdom and intelligence, which are key values in my family. And finally, Cozcacuauhtli, the vulture. The treble clef represents my love for music and my passion, and it is the symbol that is always on my sheet music when I play the violin. The dove symbolizes my religion, as it is a symbol of peace in Christianity, and it reminds me of the story of Jesus’ baptism. The Italian flag background represents my Italian heritage. The Libra sign in the middle of the flag is my Zodiac sign (Oct. 11). I focused on the raven because I remember learning that ravens never forget a face and combined with the circum pointum embedded in the hexagon they symbolize how remembering our history is the key to consciousness and innovation. I made the crow peak out through the illusion triangle to show that consciousness and innovation are also the key to seeing past and breaking through the illusion of situations, the falseness of facts and puncturing through to see the reality, the truth. I used a light purple to paint the hexagon because purple stands for royalty and innovation is a luxury that many people don’t have access to get or become and I used some blue in the triangle because not only is it my favorite color but it is the color of water which was a critical factor in how human history has unfolded the way it did, how the world we live in today came to be.

The Celtic cross is commonly associated with Irish Catholic people. The black outline represents how darkness and evil surround us in this world and how, at times, it can feel like the only thing that happens to us. But the light coming out of the cross represents how all things are made right for those who love God and that sometimes we forget to realize that bad things happen to develop us as people and make us stronger for the future. The symbols I used were the Eye of Horus, obelisk, peace sign, and smiley face. The Eye of Horus is an Ancient Egyptian symbol for power, protection, and good health. The obelisk is yet another Ancient Egyptian structure that symbolizes power. There were often hieroglyphs inscribed on obelisks, which is where I got the inspiration to paint the other symbols onto it. The peace sign is a symbol for peace, and the smiley face is a symbol for happiness, and as I like to put it, good vibes. I chose purple for the obelisk and red for the Eye of Horus because these two colors are powerful and represent the idea of power. For the peace sign I chose green because that’s a pretty chill color, and for the smiley face I chose blue. The circle represents compassion and wholeness, which I thought brought together the concept of my artwork.
