I love learning about the crazy places that the character goes to. The adventure is one of my favorite things in a book! It's cool to learn as the character learns because then I get a better understanding of what's going on. It helps me calm down and nobody can bother me while I read. It just feels so good to in control of how the characters look to you. When you read a picture book or watch the book's movie, you can't really get to make up what the characters look like. For example, I'm currently reading reading the Hunger Games. I watched the movie before reading the book so I now have, in my mind, what the actors in the movie look like which makes me put them in the place of the characters in the book. When I need a break from real life I can always turn to my book. Also when I read I learn a lot about myself. For example I might realize how much I want to travel to one place or how I am so lucky for what I have. I also believe books are calming and relaxing and it helps me fall asleep. I see myself as my own character and think about what characters could have done or could do to improve something or how they could have thought about. One of my favorite book series is warrior cats they are descriptive and you can imagine what is happening throughout the book. I read before bed most of the time because if I was just doing something active or fast or maybe a video game, I get kind of awake and I will have trouble sleeping if I do something like that at eleven at night.
