Two questions we've formulated as a group:

1) The Harlem Renaissance was one of the major implications of the Great Migration. How is it similar/different to what was happening in other cities where a lot of African Americans were arriving (i.e. Chicago?)

2) What did broader community relations look like between African American migrants and people around them?

What were the socio-economic class and gender intra-relations and power dynamics of African American migrants coming from the south to East, Midwest, and West coast? (Specifically exploring narratives, community cultural wealth)
How did non-Black Americans interact with the Harlem Renaissance and how did cultural shifts impact affect non-black POC?

How did the South reacted to the loss of so much talent, and how is that included in the narrative; how did the people in power react, try to force people to stay, etc?
What tools/resources will we have access to in order to teach some of the difficult history, particularly in places where history is being revised?
What impact did the Great Migration have on education and parental involvement in it? Were parents conditioned to stay out of it, coming from the south, or were they more likely to participate in it because they came from segregated schools?

When it comes to intersectionality, how did the Great Migration impact other communities, such as LGBTQ+, women, etc. ?

Did the Northern newspapers (like the Chicago Defender) address the discrimination, racism, and hostilities that migrants encountered in the North?
