Social media are apps and websites in the internet that are used to interact and share about lifestyles and about personal lives. Social media is widely used around the world and has become the main way of communicating and sharing with one another as it is a very convenient and efficient way to communicate. Although due to the many things you can find in social media, many people get addicted. They scroll for hours and hours looking for things that can entertain them. The entertaining posts of content creators get people hooked on and because of this become addicted. This affects adolescents in mental health as addiction can lead to being deprived of sleep, daily exercise, mental capacity and control of emotions.

How social media change the dynamics of human interaction?

Social media has significantly impacted communication, making it easier to stay updated and connected. However, it has also led to a shift in human interaction, with people preferring to use their phones instead of having face-to-face conversations. Social media allows for real-time communication through text, images, and videos, accelerating the pace of interaction and sharing updates, news, and personal experiences. As a result, fewer people interact personally and prefer to meet people online. People now value gadgets more than human interaction, and they prioritise their phones over important things. Social media has changed the way we communicate by allowing easy texting, quick updates, and more time to stare and use phones due to social media accounts and online games.

How issues in relation to online technology have affected your way of dealing with people around you?

Online technology, such as social media and messaging apps, has made it easier for us to stay in touch with our friends and family, regardless of geographical distance. It has affected us in both good and bad ways. It gave us information on how to deal with others, but sometimes the given information is helpful, and other times it is not.

How has social media changed you? Have you in any way become "unsocial"?

Social media has significantly impacted our confidence and social interactions. While it has made us more confident and friendly, it has also led to a decrease in our social interactions. We often find ourselves focusing on social media instead of connecting with others, leading to a lack of time for social interaction. Additionally, social media has not made us unsocial but rather has increased our confidence and allowed us to express our true emotions. It has also made us more positive and extroverted, but social media can also affect our health because sometimes we sleep late and do not eat at the right time.

What do your parents tell you about the use of social media in your household? Do you have any restrictions at home when it comes to online communication?

Our parents have no restrictions on using social media, as it is the only way we interact and communicate. They understand that technology is now more important than ever, and sometimes we use it for our studies. However, they advise us to be aware of what we post online and limit our use of gadgets. They also advise us not to trust anyone on social media and to only connect with our friends. Despite these restrictions, we have no restrictions when it comes to online communication, as our parents have trust in us, and they know that we don't trust easily.
