         <title>                                             What is Electronic Skin?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Electronic skin is an example of how technology continues to reform the healthcare profession and impacts the nursing profession either directly or as a by-product. New technology advances have created essentially a 'temporary tattoo'. This device will adhere to the skin and be able to transmit information based on skin temperature, humidity, blood flow, sweat and pressure. Multiple research institutions globally have created devices that have self healing abilities,  pressure sensitization and advanced biometric abilities. The purpose of the electronic skin expands to nursing and health assessments, tele-care,  robotic and surgical instruments and biometric data collection and treatment such as immediate drug releases. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>E-skin is an impressive technology. It has the opportunity to provide closer continuous patient monitoring, medication administration and biometric health data collection. It has the potential to change the use of prostethic devices to improve lives of patients. It can assist with robotic surgery equipment by analyzing the exact pressure needed, down to the weight of one strand of hair, to perform the designed function. However, as healthcare continues to change it is imperative nurses are not entirely reliant on technology and are still able to provide the compassion and human assessment that is the foundation of the practice.</div>]]></description>
