         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ten weeks after the Japanese bombed Pearl  Harbor FDR signed executive order 9066. The US declared the entire West Coast, which was home to the majority of Americans who had Japanese citizenship or ancestry. By June 110,000 Japanese American were living in internment camps built by the US military, that were scattered across the country. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Anyone who was at least 1/16th Japanese were sent to internment camps, including over 17,000 children under 10. People had six days to gather their belongings that they would bring with them to the camps. They then reported to centers near their homes, then were transported to relocation centers for several months until they were brought to a permanent wartime residence.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Korematsu vs The US</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Korematsu stayed in his home in San Leandro, California and violated civilian executive order No. 34. of the US army. It questioned whether the US and Congress were going over their limits by restricting the rights of Japanese Americans.  The Court sided with the government and said that the need to protect against espionage outweighed Korematsu's rights.</div>]]></description>
