A small non-profit out of Chestertown, Maryland. I am a deckhand/educator on board a tall ship named the Schooner Sultana. We take 4th and 5th graders out on the boat to teach them about the history and ecology of the Chesapeake Bay. This photo is from a few weeks ago. We were part of the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race. We raced through the night from Baltimore to Portsmouth, Virginia. It is the first tall ship I have worked on and I have learned a lot from this experience. My favorite thing we do on board is fire off one of our swivel guns. My first job was at an Audubon Center in Dallas, Texas. I taught 4-16 year olds about birds and reptiles during summer camps as the education intern. Once the internship was over, I began teaching Outdoor Education at a YMCA in Graford, Texas. I absolutely loved Texas and felt very grateful to have taught at such a beautiful camp.
