Don’s role in the development of aviation safety management worldwide cannot be overstated. Aviation safety is forever indebted to him.

I would like to offer prayers and condolences to colleagues and Don Family.
Losing Don is sad news for all of us; its absence is strongly felt within the aviation community. Beyond his respectful personality and his kindness, his wisdom keeps his memory alive. I was honored as a member of working group on safety risk management within the ICAO Safety management panel, to have been leaded by Don   , over the past two years. Its ability to lead the group towards consensus besides to its intelligent approach have a great contribution to the promotion and strengthen of the group's commitment.
  I was personally touched, along all safety risk management working group teleconferences, by his ability in reducing complexity and in building a consensus while focusing on the reliability of the task team deliverables. Not least of which, the absence of Don was strongly felt at the last teleconference of safety risk management group, held on the 2nd of November .The memory of Don will be missed but I'm confident that its overarching contribution to enhance global aviation safety keeps him alive in our heart and in our minds
