One theory is that he died of “congestion of the brain.” Some people think that alcoholism caused his death. Although many have come up with other theories including epilepsy, rabies, and carbon monoxide poisoning.

Poe started his writing career as a very harsh editor. During his time as an editor, he criticized the works that he was editing very brutally.
