One of the clearest examples of animal culture can be found in the behaviour of a group of bottlenose dolphins in Shark Bay, Australia. The dolphins pick up sea sponges from the bottom of the sea and wear them on their noses for protection when looking for food. Of a total of 130 dolphins living in the area, only one extended family group of around 20 displays this behaviour. This suggests that the use of the sponges as a tool is being learnt and passed on within the group.

Paraphrased:

It was found that the way of acting of a bunch of bottlenose dolphins in Shark Bay, Australia is a marine culture example. Among the 130 dolphins staying in the area, approximately 20 from a huge family displays the behavior of searching sea sponges underwater and placing it on their noses for safety purposes whilst searching for food. As a result, they keep learning to use sponges as tool and this behavior keeps going on among them (Chin et al., 2015).
