I come to you today with a heart full of emotion. On one hand, my heart is full of gratitude for all of the wonders that you have made. Thank you for giving me this beautiful day, especially one where I encountered You.

However, my God, I come also to you with a heavy heart. A sad heart. A broken heart. I am in so much pain, Lord. I feel so lonely. I feel so exhausted. I feel that I am so unworthy of love. The crosses that I am currently carrying are too much to handle. I may look okay in front of everyone, but in truth, I am carrying all of these burdens. I ask you, my God, to guide me through all of these trials and tribulations. To lighten my load. To give me a sign that everything is going to be alright.

Not my will, but Yours be done. I lift up everything to You.

I acknowledge that I have many shortcomings that accompany my own personal struggles and challenges. I also admit that there are times wherein I want to just ignore these challenges. I am grateful for all the blessings and sufferings I have received from you. As I walk through this journey, please do enlighten me of my vocation. Give me the strength to make use of my talents for your greater Glory. In times of need, help me fill-up that emptiness and sorrow. I know there will be moments of grief and in these unfortunate times, I seek to hear your voice in the loudest sense. Above all, look over me as I create my purposeful path. All my life, I have constantly pursued the will of others for me, thinking that I am becoming a more loving person towards them. However, as I go further in my journey, I feel lost and unsure of my purpose and what I want. Today, I took a step towards my own path. Thank you, God, for your constant presence and guidance in my life. I am frightened and weak, but your strength enables me to take one step at a time, moving forward. I am beyond grateful for showering me with your love through the people around me–my family, my friends, and even the strangers who remind me of your presence whenever I forget that I am not alone.

I’m sorry that, with the all the angst of my teen years bottled up in the person that I am, I may not pray often. I humbly ask for your forgiveness for being reminded of your presence only on days that I am weak and suffering.

I pray to have the courage to pour out and let go of all these negative energy bottled up within me.  I pray for the healing of my inner child who has suffered the pain a child needed to be protected from and borne the responsibilities beyond her years.
