The author describes aliens in a very horrifying way, which makes the story even more interesting and thrilling. Also, I really like the name of the novel "The War Of The Worlds" as it suits the alien-themed plot of the story perfectly, not to mention it's very eye-catching.

I don't think I'd read the whole book, but I would definately recommend it for everyone who likes that type of genre.
