Many have argued over it's meaning and what we can and can't have, "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed". The reason why is because its description of firearms is so vague, since the founding fathers didn't have in mind firearms that evolved to be more sophisticated and deadly.
